ABOUT MAS LAB

# Multimodal Acoustic Systems Laboratory MAS Lab explores how acoustic waves can serve as a common language for biomedical measurement, imaging, and controlled stimulation. We develop engineering systems and computational methods that connect **energy deposition or acoustic stimulation → wave generation and propagation → signal acquisition → image reconstruction → quantitative interpretation of biological structure, function, and response**.

MAS Lab

## Our approach We work across the full imaging pipeline: **Imaging physics → Hardware & acquisition → Reconstruction → AI analysis → Quantitative validation → Biomedical application** Our research particularly emphasizes photoacoustic and ultrasound imaging, radiation-induced acoustic sensing/imaging, physics-informed computational imaging, and quantitative monitoring of disease, therapy, ultrasound stimulation, and rehabilitation. ## What students learn Students can develop a broad engineering toolkit across imaging system construction, experiment design, signal processing, image reconstruction, GPU computing, deep learning, and quantitative biomedical analysis.

## Lab culture We value rigorous measurement, reproducible computation, open collaboration, clear communication, and research that connects fundamental imaging physics with meaningful biomedical problems.
