On August 14, 2026, Prof. Seongwook Choi attended the KOSOMBE Academia Workshop on Outstanding Research Strategies in Biomedical Engineering, hosted by the Korean Society of Medical & Biological Engineering at Seoul National University College of Medicine.
The workshop brought together accomplished faculty members from universities across Korea to share candid, practical perspectives on building meaningful research programs. Senior researchers reflected on their own paths—from communicating science and translating medical technologies to navigating academic careers and developing creative research strategies. Their experiences offered especially valuable guidance for junior faculty at the beginning of independent careers.
Beyond the formal sessions, the workshop provided a welcoming space for junior and senior researchers to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another. It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on how rigorous engineering research can grow through mentorship, collaboration, and sustained engagement with real biomedical needs.
